Race For Life
Last Sunday (20th May 2007) found 16 energetic ladies, clad in bright red t-shirts and running shoes at the Stratford Race course ready to run (or walk, or stroll) the Race for Life along with nearly 4000 other women. The purpose? To raise money in support of Cancer Research and to reach our sponsorship target of £1000.
The weather was superb, team spirits were high and the atmosphere was fantastic.
A big well done goes to Robyn Jamieson (our youngest lady!), Karen Jamieson, Gemma Proctor, Suzanne Berry, Naomi Watson, Kristina Pearce, Renate Pearce, Mariana Pretorius, Anna Simmons, Pat Lanham, Claire Peacock, Emma Pearce and Brenda-Louise Vine who all completed the race in plenty of good time (Thanks to the challenge by Rob to buy an ice-cream for anyone who finished in under an hour).
Also big thanks to all the men who came along to offer moral support and plenty of cheerleading.
Lastly, but certainly most importantly - a massive thank you to everyone who sponsored us! Your support and encouragement was much appreciated. Without people like you we would never have raised the necessary money for Cancer Research.
