Seaside Rock - August 2003

The highlight of our summer in 2003 had to be the holiday club - Seaside Rock!
From the 18th August to the 22nd, we were led by Pat Lanham down to the beach for a range of activities ably supported by some old hands in our church and some new friends from the Czech Republic who were visiting sunny England for a few weeks.
With over 90 children attending this year, our fourth year of running our free children's holiday club, we managed to pack numerous activities into the week long programme, including crafts, singing, games and best of all, the multicoloured, multi-purpose parachute! Yes, a 9mtr round parachute soon became ours and the children's favourite! See the picture below and you'll soon see why - at one stage we had over 40 children inside the parachute!
If you came to this year's club, then keep an eye out for the Xmas special that is planned.
The summer holiday club is certainly becoming a key activity during the year with many children having attended the previous years clubs, namely Go for Gold, Groundbreakers, Desert Detectives and this year's Seaside Rock.
Aimed at children aged 5-11, everyone is invited from the community of Leamington and surrounding areas.
Friday was the main event with several children returning with their parents for Seaside Rock for the family. Everyone including the adults had a chance to see what we got up to during the week including a few more goes on the parachute.
Thanks go out to all those involved in the preparation and the running of the club whether full time, part time or indirectly - without this support, the club could not function.
