Pastor Milan Gugleta

Milan came to Leamington in 2006. As a pastor Milan enjoys taking part in discussion groups, mainly focusing on questions beginning with "why...?", and looking for consistent answers. In this setting his desire is to see people grow in a dynamic relationship with God and with one another. His personal interest is in studying the meaning of the cross of Christ.

Milan was born in Serbia. Since he came to England in 1997 he lived in Newcastle, Berkshire, Yorkshire and Birmingham. During his time in England he has adopted some customs such as eating mince pies and watching snooker at the Crucible.

Milan enjoys troubleshooting computer problems, because machines, unlike people, are easy to fix. He is married to Michelle and they have a daughter Nastasja.

Nigel Clark (elder)

A member of Leamington Mission since 1995. Married to Diana with two teenage boys Andrew and Laurence who have become keen musicians through the Mission. Nigel takes great support from the genuine Christian fellowship at the Mission, his aim is to try and ensure that this is the same experience for all it's members and visitors.

This ties in with also being a head deacon where there is an opportunity to meet the members and visitors on arrival.

Nigel has always been a very keen sportsman currently involved in running and duathlons. He uses this hobby to help in raising charity funds by organising a Mission 3 peaks team most years.

In addition to this Nigel enjoys painting and country walks when time permits.

Robert Glinton (elder)

An accountant by profession, Rob is married to Lorraine, and has three rapidly growing teenagers (almost).

Of Scottish origin, Rob ventured south and found a better kind of fortune.

Rob can often be found playing bass guitar in the worship band and has been a regular member of our congregation since 2001.

Rob's enjoyment of life and all things Scottish, is significantly heightened once a year when he can be found co-ordinating the annual Burns Night Supper at the Mission. Sporting a Kilt and all the usual trimmings, no-one to date has yet dared to see what lies beneath the cloth!

"....oh, and the beard is real!"

Terry Layland (elder)

Terry is a founding member of the Mission and was actively involved in the renovation of the building. He is a second generation Adventist, married to Hazel and father of Andrew and Anna, and proud grandfather to Jack, Harrison and Olivia. He is father in law to Tristan and Soonim and is delighted that all his family are active members of the Mission. He has an active interest in sport and is a lifelong supporter of Wolverhampton Wanderers (The Wolves).

He has a passion for Aberdaron in North Wales and has worked for many years on staff at the various church camps, especially Family Camp. Terry has been active in many areas of church life and at present he is a member of the Executive Committee of the North England Conference of Seventh Day Adventists.

Terry's aim for 2008 is to work together to encourage spiritual growth and a closer and meaningful relationship with Jesus, with church friends and visitors.

Tristan Simmons (elder)

Tristan greeted Leamington's doorstep in 1995 as a young graduate. Agnostic in his beliefs, he was intrigued to know more about Christianity and what it had to offer. He was duly baptised in 1999, then became our Youth Elder in January 2002 and Elder in November 2004.

"Leamington Church has come to represent a very important part of my life; after all, it was here that I first discovered Christ and He has been transforming my life ever since."

Tristan takes a prime role in supporting and encouraging young people in the Church Community. We have over 35 people between the age of 13 and 30 regularly attending Leamington and we cater for every walk of life, from the students at local universities through to those who simply want some company.

"Youth weekends, Kids Holiday clubs and community volunteer work in places like Croatia are the sort of agenda items we have throughout the year. We are an active Church and we're always on the look out for new faces and fresh ideas!"

Brenda-Louise Vine (elder)

Originally from South Africa, Brenda-Louise joined the Mission in 2001. She has since married our resident worship leader, Dan, and particularly enjoys her involvement with the worship band.

By day Brenda-Louise works as a project co-ordinator and in her spare time she enjoys anything to do with water, power-kiting, coffee shops and a good book.

Brenda-Louise has a passion for worship and its role in our everyday lives. "My desire for this year is to awaken and revive in our church - and especially in our young people - the excitement of knowing and worshipping God and that His influence will spill over into every area of our lives and will transform our relationship with Him and with each other."

Bronwyn Jones (youth mentor)

Also originally from South Africa and the younger sister of Brenda-Louise, Bronwyn has been attending the Mission since 2000.

Bronwyn has recently made many big life changes - including getting married, buying her first home, and completing her degree in Forensics with a 1st class honours.

Bronwyn is known at the Mission to be a very helpful and willing member, and especially enjoys working with the youth on contemporary issues and representing them to the rest of the church.
