Christinity Explored 2006 Summary

In 2006, the Mission trialled Christianity Explored for the first time - and we loved it!
Over 30 different people attended; some who were new to the church, along with many members who were interested or wanted to revive their faith.

The overall impression was that Christianity Explored was a captivating and very popular course. We found that the material was exciting and in-touch, whilst making us think about the choices we make as a Christian!

The books have all gone....the DVDs are in popular demand.....and we now eagerly wait in anticipation of the evangelism course for 2007!

What is it?

Developed over 10 years, Christianity Explored is an informal course for people who'd like to investigate Christianity, or just brush up on the basics. It explores who Jesus was, what his aims were, and what it means to follow him.

You're not asked to pray, sing, or read aloud, and you can ask any question you like.
Or, if you prefer, you can come along and simply listen.

Each evening will start with a meal - and a good one at that! This is an opportunity to get to know the people in your group, make new friends and have a laugh. You will be part of the same group for the entire course. Following dinner there is a presentation on the topic of the evening, each week we will cover a new topic.

After the meal it's coffee and small group discussions. In your group you then have the opportunity to share opinions and thoughts on the presentation and ask any questions you might have. The crux of Christinaity Explored is that no question is too simple or too difficult. This is a time to listen, learn, discuss and discover.

Christianity Explored is a longer, ten-week course that makes use of the additional time to forge trusting relationships with participants, and look at Mark's Gospel in greater depth. It also explores other themes such as assurance, the church, the Holy Spirit, the Bible and prayer.
